Hey! The blog site that we found is called AdFreak. It is a blog that shows the best in advertising and some of the worst of advertising. They both praise and critique them. The contributors to the site are Tim Nudd, David Gianatasio, David Griner, David Kiefaber, T.L. Stanley, Rebecca Cullers, and Gabriel Beltrone. It is edited by Adweek's Tim Nudd. The contributors philosophies are all pretty similar. I believe that they are trying to, as I mentioned before, the best and worst in modern advertising. These writers try to invoke their beliefs into a lot of their posts through their many times dry and sarcastic. I also see that many of them put some of their humor into the posts, especially when they blog about some of the "worst" ads. So I believe that these authors are attempting to show some of the insanity of our modern ads through the humor in their posts. What do you guys think? How do the writers invoke their opinions, experiences, education in the posts? What community is this made for? Are the same philosophies used throughout the blogs? Enjoy!

They seem to implement humor in their blog more than other sites, both in their examining of funny advertisements and in their humorous commentary. After reading this blog I find that I want to do drugs and eat cheese.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is one of my favorites because they use a lot of humor. They tend to use some pretty modern advertisements which makes it all the more interesting. They also do not just put down ads, they admire them.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this blog. The blog seems to be reaching out to the common people and ordinary things. This makes the blog more appealing and reader friendly. The writers comments on the ads don't seem so much to be their opinions, but they are talking casually about how they feel about the ads. I think this also makes the blog more appealing because as a reader you don't feel attacked and forced to think what they think. You can form your own opinion. A lot of the ads were funny and I really enjoyed the "Art director makes his wife the nerdiest yet coolest gift ever."
ReplyDeleteThis blog is great, the writers do a great job using interesting advertisements and writing playful commentary on them. This seems to be for the community between 18-30 year olds because it occasionally seems a little immature, but it is not being completely ridiculous with its criticisms either. It focuses mainly on humorous advertisements which makes it much easier to look through.
ReplyDeleteThis blog is the kind of my favorites. The ads are interesting and full of fun. They do a pretty good job to find some really easy to look. The comments there are very unattacking and peaceful. It makes the reader more willing to show their own opinion. But also because the ads don't have any deeply meaning and are just funny, the comments there are always very simple and few.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice on the blog! AdFreaks is really interesting and fun to read. The different posts are comical and appealing to all ages. I found it funny there was already a recent ad about Bin Laden and it also further states to view Copyranter for further posts about him. Can't imagine the type of bashing going on there.
ReplyDeleteAlso the guy from Empire Carpet commercials died!? Wow I remember seeing those all the time on tv.
This blog is very informative and I feel that they will keep updating the ages with information you would rarely hear about it.
I agree with Curtis. This blog is definately one of my favorites because it does make me laugh and is very interesting. They tell the bad and the good about the ads and that's the way it should be.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely my favorite blog so far. I liked how laid back and easygoing the posts are. I got so caught up in reading it I almost forgot it was homework! This is definitely geared towards a younger audience and has a nice variety of posts. I can't get over the post, "Man places ad offering $5000 for a wife"... I think the blog is pretty consistent throughout, and takes a neutral stance while bringing current, interesting ads to readers attention.
ReplyDeleteAfter viewing this blog there is many things that i can say about it.I really like the clean setup to the webpage it is very inviting. Another great thing about the blogging is that it is entertaining in the way that it talks about trendiness, and it also has very funny topics that grab your attention. I like how they incorporate videos withing articles also, it is very nice for viewers when bloggers change it up like this.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this blog. They had a wide variety of very different ads, none of which I'd seen before. I enjoyed their humor-filled comments and light-hearted remarks, and I agree that this blog is probably written for younger people. The fact that the blog doesn't sound very professional makes me think that they're writing more for the general public than for those in the industry. Overall a good blog, great choice!
ReplyDeleteAfter looking through this blog, i realized that i really liked it. the main thing i like the most about it is it holds my attention! Adfreak uses humor as a means for the reader to stay interested, and to continue visting the site (unlike the other sites that were very dry in reading). also, another thing that i really liked about adfreak was the type of ads that it featured. the ads were very amusing and were more relatable than ads seen on the other blogs we've looked at
ReplyDeleteSo far, this has been my favorite blog. It was fairly humorous and seemed to be directed to my generation. It made it seem better to relate to than the other blogs we've seen. Also from what i've seen, it didn't use a lot of explicit language to prove their point.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this blog. They seem to implement humor in their blog more than other sites. This blog as good because I felt it holds the readers attention. The site seemed very amusing and fun!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy this blog beacuse it has a sense of humor to it that the audience will enjoy reading. Its point of view is more related to younger adults in which i can relate too of being a young man. That ads in general were interesting to read and enjoy being entertained with the responses.
